Final product for the plaster cloth project.
This is the frame we will be hanging all of our planets from.
We ended up using two to three layers of paint for each planet to cover up most of the white spots.
After creating the balls, we began painting them.
We began this project by constructing paper balls covered in plaster cloth. We created 10 to represent the sun, 8 planets, and the moon.
Final product for my plaster sculpting project.
This is the closest I will be able to get to the shape that I am aiming for. More often than not I will mess up and make odd incisions in my piece so I am going to refrain from trying to improve this further because I don't want it to look any worse.
My first carving session contained a lot of progress. I got rid of most of the mold but I am left with a very awkward non broccoli like shape mainly because I am not good at carving out of plaster molds and I am really struggling with this project.
i began this process by making a mild of a plastic cup to carve my piece of broccoli out of .
This is the only thing that I am really capable of crafting for this type of project.
my final product I am very pleased with how it turned out.
Final product before putting this project in the kiln. I cleaned up the eyebrows but didn't have the opportunity to take a picture of it. This will all be shown in the actual final product.
My hat survived the kiln! What seemed very unlikely turned out to actually happen which is very satisfying. I celebrated this achievement by applying two layers of chocolate brown on the entire piece as the base painting. I plan on applying the rid layer when we have our next opportunity to paint and finish it off with different colors in the more detailed parts of the piece.
Final product for my slab construction project. Very confused how the colors ended up the way they were but very satisfied wit's the overall presentation of the piece.
Looking back at my progress, I wasn't satisfied with my work so I completely re did my sculpture and got something that actually resembles the hat from Harry Potter.
It turned out very well, hopefully the painting will be just as good.
This is the rough draft of the next clay sculpture I am doing, it is fog to beer make of the Harry Potter wizard hat.
This si the finished product for my relief sculpture project. I am disappointed with the dark colors in my piece because they look gross but the other colors compliment the overall goal of the piece.
This is the cup I made with the technique of slab construction. Very satisfied with the final product especially since it only took me around 10 minutes to make.
I Glazed the relief sculpture to bring out the fact that it is a sun rather than a starfish. In all honesty I think the colors will make it look more like an animal than a sun but I can live with that because this is an art class and it's more about the abstract image that it brings rather than what it literally is.
The finished product for the coil construction. I attempted to construct the helm as best as I could however the clay and the heat that it's going to have to go through prevents me from adding the fine details along with constructing it the way I want to. Regardless I am satisfied with what I have made.
These are the possibilities that I am going to be choosing from for the coil construction project. The helm is from my family crest and the coconut is some random idea that I thought of that I may choose to Persue.
This did not turn out as planned mainly because my carving skills are no where near my drawing skills. However I am satisfied with the result.
This is my rough draft for the relief clay drawing project.
This is my attempt at the "star man". After many attempts and complications I finally ended up with my crime scene man. It didn't seem lively enough to be consisted anything other than something deceased. Regardless it's the best that I could muster out of my hands for today.
Sculpting a stegosaurus part one and two. I began part one inking that we could sculpt any dinosaur, which led me to begin sculpting a Tyrannosaurus rex. However, at the end of class i found out about the stegosaurus requirement so I just out the rex on all fours and transformed it a bit.
This is the only other cool thing I do with my flip flops.
This is a picture of where I spend most of my time wearing this shoe.
this is the rough draft of my wire sculpture.
